Massage

Massage therapy is a manual, hands on therapy that involves manipulating the muscles and other soft tissues of the body. Massage is one of the oldest forms of medical treatment dating back thousands of years.

While the benefits of massage are numerous, the relief of pain and stress are considered the most important. Other massage benefits include increased circulation, reduced blood pressure, enhanced immune system, improved flexibility and muscle repair.

There are dozens of types of massage. Some of the most common massage techniques are Swedish, Myofascial Release, Shiatsu, and Reflexology.

A massage therapist will use different techniques based on the patient's needs. A typical full massage session lasts 60 to 90 minutes and many times includes follow-up visits.
